11:00 - 11:45 Reimagining the River Mersey: The Next Chapter for Liverpool’s Iconic Waterfront

Liverpool City Region boasts a globally renowned and iconic skyline, steeped in maritime history and anchored by the city’s ‘three graces’. Stretching down, the region boasts miles of open coastline, Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ installation, Runcorn Bridge and Southport’s Pier Head.

Significant private and public investment is further transforming Liverpool’s waterfront. This includes the completion of the world-class Everton Stadium on Bramley Moore Dock, a £56mn cash injection from Homes England to Liverpool Waters’ Central Docks site, and Beetham and TJ Morris’ pledge to build a 60-storey tower in the heart of the business district, set to be the tallest building in the city. Over the water, Wirral Waters is revitalising 300 acres of former dockland, creating a pioneering, mixed use, highly sustainable, waterside city extension and creating 1,000’s of permanent jobs for the Liverpool City Region.

Major waterfront development schemes, such as Kings Dock, Festival Gardens and Liverpool Waters, alongside a city-led Waterfront Strategy, are set to reinforce the waterfront as a great place for homes, business, culture and leisure.

This discussion will focus on real estate opportunities linked to maritime infrastructure, urban regeneration and sustainable waterfront developments. Everton and Liverpool are two sporting giants, recognised and celebrated across the world, and synonymous with the city itself.

Everton FC has just completed the development of their brand-new state-of-the-art stadium, Bramley Moore Dock, located on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront. Meanwhile, Liverpool FC has secured their twentieth Premier League trophy, deepening their global sporting dominance and capturing the hearts of football fans, globally.

However, the clubs are also place makers and major landowners in North Liverpool, which is now home to three iconic football stadiums: Anfield, Goodison Park and Everton Stadium.

Working hand-in-hand with the city, Everton FC and Liverpool FC are helping to unlock housing developments, growth and opportunities across North Liverpool.
